Impressions from the participation of the LEOO science club at the EuroGEO Workshop 2025 conference

LEOO science club represented our city and the event during international EuroGEO Workshop 2025, held on October 13 -15, 2025, in The Hague, Netherlands, at the World Forum The Hague.

The EuroGEO 2025 conference was organized under the slogan “Combine, Coordinate, Cooperate – Advancing Collective Earth Intelligence“. Its main objectives included:

  • Promoting the concept of ,,Earth Intelligence” – transforming Earth observation data into actionable information and informed decisions.
  • Engaging young scientists, startups and educational community in innovations within the field of Earth observation.

During the conference, we had the opportunity to:

  • Participate in plenary and panel sessions, covering topics such as role of AI in Earth observation (EO), in situ data integration, and the interoperability of systems and standards.
  • Visit poster stands, present our own short poster, and explore the projects of other participants – which helped us establish valuable contacts and broaden our horizons.
  • Learn about the scientific community, startups and institutions involved in Earth Observation – providing inspiration for our club’s future work and potential school-based projects.

A particularly important moment was our presentation during the section devoted to education, where we highlighted the role of young people and showing them the possibilities of involving students in geoinformation projects.

Participating in EuroGeo 2025 has opened new opportunities for us, including:

  • Inviting a conference speaker or organizing a workshop at our school – using the contacts we made as a foundation
  • Developing collaboration with local government or other institutions as part of a “student – scientist” project, drawing on guidance on how EO can support urban management, water resources and urban green spaces development.

Taking part in such a prestigious event is not only a distinction but also a responsibility. We are committed to turning our newly gained experience into concrete actions at school. It also sends a strong message to our school community that our club is growing, evolving and constantly taking on new challenges, something we hope will inspire other students, teachers and potential sponsor to get involved in our activities.

Our chaperones – Ms. Renata Michalczuk and Mr. Sławomir Filipiuk as well as Martyna Michałowska and Michał Bednarek represented the city and school with distinction. We hope that the knowledge and connections we have gained will lead to further exciting projects.

We would like to thank everyone who supported our trip – our chaperones, the mayor and the school administration.
