Guest Lecture: Dr Martyna A. Stelmaszczuk‑Górska

Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Institute of Geography, Department of Earth Observation.

We are pleased to invite you to the first lecture of this semester in our series of scientific meetings. The speaker will be Dr Martyna A. Stelmaszczuk‑Górska from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, a specialist in the field of Earth Observation. This rapidly developing branch of science and technology plays an increasingly significant role in the global economy, environmental monitoring, resource management and crisis‑response systems.

During the lecture „Zawody przyszłości: jak Obserwacja Ziemi zmienia świat i ścieżki kariery” (Jobs of the Future: How Earth Observation Is Changing the World and Career Paths), participants will be introduced to the scientific foundations and practical applications of satellite imagery and remote‑sensing methodologies. The presentation will explore how these techniques enhance our understanding of dynamic environmental processes and global change. Dr Stelmaszczuk‑Górska will also discuss emerging professional pathways and new labour‑market opportunities arising from advances in Earth‑observation technologies—both within scientific research and across the public and private sectors.

This event offers a valuable opportunity to learn about current trends in environmental research and future technological developments without leaving your home.
